BARBARA JEAN MOUTHAAN

Barbara Jean Lauwers was born in Detroit, Michigan on Dec. 16, 1935, to the late Victor and Mary (Lybeer) Lauwers. On March 5, 1981, she married Joe Mouthaan. Barb retired from the Detroit Lions organization in 2000, having worked for them for 25 years. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, Hubbard Lake Red Hat Society, Chooties Auxiliary #96 (VFW) Trustee-Alpena, and enjoyed baking and cooking.

Surviving are her husband, Joe; three children, Dane (Margaret) Duhr, Gary Duhr, Teresa (Barry) Weiss; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Richard (Mary) Lauwers; Margaret Matovina, Catherine Skwirsk; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mouthaan was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Mark Matovina and Carl Skwirsk.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday at St. Catherine Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John William officiating.

Interment: St. Catherine Cemetery
