THERON VICTOR FRANKLIN

He was born Nov. 10, 1940 to Leonard and Julia (Souler) Franklin in Lincoln. He attended Lincoln School and graduated from Alcona High School with the class of 1959. He served in the US Military in the early 1960’s stationed in Germany and then was employed by the United States Postal Service for 42 years. He was a member of the Andersonville Community Church and the American Legion Post in Pontiac. He was a sports enthusiast, avid deer hunter and Detroit Tiger Baseball fan, but most of all he was a family man.

In 1968 he married Karen Perry and he was the father of Margaret (Pat Gilliand) and Timothy (Annette) Franklin. He is survived by his wife Karen as well as his brother Donald Franklin of Lincoln and sister, Elaine Medor also of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Virginia Franklin Dudler and VanDetta Franklin King as well as brothers Robert Franklin and Richard Franklin. He is also survived by grandsons Max Gilliand and Whitaker Franklin and granddaughters MacKenzie Gilliland, Ashley Franklin and Samantha Franklin. He was a very proud great-grandpa of Theodora.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home in Waterford. Internment at Christian Memorial Cemetery.
