ROBERT DOUGLAS SCHAFFER

Robert was born Dec. 12, 1948 in Dearborn, Michigan to the late Douglas and Maryann (Tolstyka) Schaffer. His special needs have always limited him physically, but never once did it limit his fantastic personality. Robert wasn’t always able to communicate verbally, but his warm smile and simple yes or “yeah” answer would connect him with his environment. He loved to socialize, often engaging in activities with his friends. He also enjoyed NASCAR, car shows, bowling, picnics, and going out to eat.

Robert is survived by his brothers, Bruce, Scott, and Michael, his long-time guarding and close friend, Gloria Egelski, and all his family at Pine Park Home Assisted Living.

Robert has been taken for cremation with no services planned. Inurnment will take place at Sims-Whitney Cemetery in Au Gres, Michigan. Arrangements have been handled by McWilliams Funeral Home.
