DONNA JOANNE BRIGHT

Donna Joanne Somers was born in Harrisville on Jan. 19, 1934, to the late Ervin and Genevieve (Ciszewski) Somers. She graduated salutatorian from her high school class in Harrisville. After graduation, she went to Detroit and got a job in administration for an insurance company at the Penobscot Building. On Aug. 3, 1957, she married James Keith Bright. They were happily married for over 50 years. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2014. She was a mother of three, a homemaker and stayed home to raise her family. She lived in Warren, Michigan, Evans, GA and eventually retired at Beaver Lake with her husband. She loved working outside, crocheting, painting flowers on furniture, doing crafts, and going to estate and garage sales.

Surviving are her three children, Julie (Michael) Provencher, Kathy Kline, Robert (Keri) Bright; three grandchildren, Jason (Jaime) Provencher, Jenifer (Andrew) Bogue, Courtney Kline; two great-grandchildren, Juliana and Andrew “Drew” Bogue, which she adored, and a sister, Janet (Zack) Higgins.

Mrs. Bright was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Somers.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home in Alpena on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023, from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. with Deacon Michael Roy officiating. The rosary will be recited at 2 p.m.

Interment: Mt. Joy Cemetery – Harrisville
