DONALD R. SMITH

Donald R. Smith of Hillman, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 28, 2023 while wintering in Port Isabel, Texas. Don was a lifelong and active resident of Hillman and possessed a deep love for family and a strong commitment to community. He had a passion for travel, fishing, hunting, and the great outdoors. Don never met a stranger and he would always go out of his way to provide help and encouragement to those who needed it. He will always be remembered for his infectious energy, his sense of humor, and his never ending repertoire of funny songs. Those who knew him or came into contact with him will forever be better off because of the positive impact he had on their lives. His life is a remarkable story of adventure and the rewards of hard work.
