LELA ALENE COHOON

Lela Alene Slight was born in Reed City on Dec. 10, 1927, to the late Floyd and Alberta (Sims). On May 21, 1949, she married Murel Cohoon. She was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting, gardening and traveling with her husband with their camper.

Surviving are her husband, Murel; five children, Carol Best, Sue Cohoon, Steven (Susan) Cohoon, Muriel Cohoon, Fern Cohoon; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marian Woods.

Mrs. Cohoon was preceded in death by her stepfather, Raymond Orcutt; sons-in-law, Harvey Edson, Josef Geczi and a sister, Alice Larsen.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home in Hillman on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Peter Smith officiating.

Interment: Hillman Rust Cemetery
