EILEEN JUILLERET
Eileen Juilleret, 79, of Charlevoix passed away Jan. 19, 2023 at home with her family.
She was born April 24, 1943, in Rogers City, Michigan to Harry and Erma Sorgatt and attended Rogers City Schools. In 1967 she moved to Charlevoix with her family and was a homemaker for several years before starting her career with the Charlevoix Public Schools. She worked for the school system in an administrative support position as payroll clerk for 25 years retiring in 2002. The highlight of her employment was receiving the OPIE awards for outstanding person in education. One of Eileen’s favorite activities was baking for family and friends. Many people were recipients of these delicious treats. She was also passionate about her animals and her flower gardens. Eileen also enjoyed her camping trips and traveling around the country and Canada. One of her favorite places was Oba Lake in Ontario. This was a family trip annually for many years. She gave her heart, soul, all of her energy to her family. She was as gracious, caring and genuine person as you could ever met.
Eileen is survived by her husband of 30 years, David Juilleret, her children Larry (Christine) Nunemaker of Ocqueoc Michigan, Barbara (Tracy) Penfold of Traverse City, stepchildren Becky (Jeff) Resch of Charlevoix, Dan (Carol) Juilleret of Charlevoix, Jennifer (Charles) Montgomery of Utah, grandchildren Dylan (fiance Jazmine), Sierra, Armani, Heather (Max) Bergeron, great-grandchildren Sabrina, Elijah, and Ava, sister-in-law Nancy Foster, many nieces and nephews, and her lifelong friends from Rogers City Ardi Mertz and Jackie Poch.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Erma, brother Terry Sorgatt, infant sister Lila and brother-in-law Jerry Foster.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m. at the Barnard Methodist Church with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Millersburg. Memorial contributions can be given to the Barnard Methodist Church, Charlevoix District Library, Charlevoix Humane Society, or Hospice.
