MARY LOU DAOUST
Mary Lou Daoust, 84, of Alpena passed away peacefully at Besser Senior Living Center on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022 with her loving family at her side.
Mary Lou was born May 7, 1938 in Alpena to the late Merritt and Dorothy (Ellingson) Nowland. On June 7, 1958 Mary Lou married the love of her life, Gary Daoust. Nothing brought her greater joy than being married and raising her family with her best friend. Her and Gary enjoyed traveling both on land and sea. Mary Lou was an active and devout member of Fresh Water Baptist Church, where she enjoyed helping whenever needed. She often hosted women’s Bible studies, and taught Sunday school as well. She was an excellent cook and baker. Mary Lou also enjoyed gardening and visiting the strawberry patch.
Mary Lou is survived by her children, Thomas (Connie) Daoust, Elizabeth (Michael) Sauve, and Kimberly (Dominic) Mousseau, four grandchildren, Matthew Blake, Adam Sauve, Noah Sauve, and Kelsey Mousseau, and a great-granddaughter Skye Coley. She was preceded by her husband Gary, her son William Daoust, and her grandson, Kristian Mousseau.
Mary Lou is at McWilliams Funeral Home where visiting hours will be held on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 p.m. with Pastor Matt Leavesley officiating. Interment: Memorial donations can be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
