JAMES JULIUS CLEMENS
James (Jim) Julius Clemens went home to Jesus on Dec. 21, 2022, at age 82. As he prepared for his journey, he assured his family that he knew where he was going, and he was ready.
Jim was born to Lillian and James Clemens on April 1, 1940. He was doted on by his three sisters, Maureen Lancaster, Delynn Villereal, and Judy Watkins, who referred to him as “brother”. They all preceded him in death.
On June 17, 1961, he married Donna Cadarette. Donna was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the 1970’s and as her illness progressed, he took on the additional roles of caregiver and mother until her passing in 1996. His daughters Rhonda Anderson (Brad) and Krist Hunter (Pete) say he was “rockstar” of a dad who did everything he could to ensure their life was not impacted by her illness.
After 32 years he retired from Alpena Power Company. He enjoyed all his time at Alpena Power and was forever grateful for the support they provided for Donna’s care.
On Aug. 30, 1997, he married Margaret (Reed) Kaminski. They enjoyed 25 wonderful years together traveling, spending winters in Holiday, Florida, and the remainder of the year at Twin Oaks. After his retirement when anyone asked him how he was he replied, “I am living my dad’s dream”, residing at Twin Oaks, a place his father wanted to make his permanent residence. He enjoyed hosting Margaret’s son, Mike (Laura) Kaminski and his children for weekends at the property. For the last five years he battled multiple cancers and Marg supported and cared for him as he optimistically sought treatment until a few weeks before his passing.
In addition to his family, he was blessed with eight wonderful grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He always seemed to light up when one of them entered the room.
As a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church his faith provided him with great comfort. He prayed daily and had a long list of family members he asked God to protect and look over.
Per his wishes there will be no formal service. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family.
