VICTORIA TOOMBS
Victoria Toombs, 80 of Alpena passed away on Oct. 30, 2022. Vicki was born to Victor and Leona Snyder (Grinnell) on Nov. 24, 1941, in Missaukee County. She was the oldest of five girls and one half-brother.
Vicki lived many years with terrible heartbreak. Before she even turned 30, three of her children, aged 3,5,6, passed away in a house fire. The infant she saved later passed away from breast cancer at age 34. Even though she had so much heartbreak in her life she was the most wonderful person you could ever meet. She was also the loudest person in any room. She has lived many places over the years, and she made friends wherever she’d go. Always using her built-in Michigan hand map to show where she lived. Vicki loved nothing more than spending time reminiscing with those she loved while drinking her coffee.
She is survived by her two daughters Suzette Hawley (Tony Kuznicki) and Michele (Michael) Hansen. Grandchildren Aaron and Ashley Toombs, Jessica and Alex Paad, Christopher (Brianna) Sholes and Cassandra (Jake) Frary. Five great-grandchildren Lucas, Felix, Phoebe, Spencer, and Axel, three siblings, Bonnie Stewart (Duane), Genny Klamert, and Freda Newcomb. Her niece and friend Ella Fisher. She also had many “adopted” grandchildren that all called her grandma.
She now joins in heaven her four children Debby, Georgia ‘Tammy’, Michael Hall, and Patrica Toombs where they can take walks and have their after-dinner ice creams by the lake. She is also preceded by a sister, Gladys Badgley, and her brother, Billy Banks.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, from 4-8 p.m. with the service beginning at 6 p.m. at McWilliams Funeral Home with the Rev. Leslie Nye officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Michigan.
