KENNETH GORDON SHAY

Kenneth Gordon Shay was born in Flint on March 19, 1936, to the late Kin and Eva (Tabor) Shay. He married the love of his life, Beatrice Modrzyski on May 4, 1956. She preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 2003. Ken served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and retired from Mulvena Truck Lines after 30 years of driving truck.

Surviving are his son Mark; seven grandchildren, Randy Shay, Jr., Kenneth Shay, Jennifer Maychen, Athena Turner, Shawn Shay, Michael Shay, Sierra Shay; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jenny Bailey, Sharron Brindley, Albert Shay, Darleen Green, and Robert Shay.

Graveside service will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Lingaur officiating, followed by military honors accorded him by VFW Alpena Post 2496. Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
