WILLIAM FRANK SHUPERT

William Frank Shupert, 87, of Alpena, passed away at MediLodge of Alpena surrounded by family on Oct. 27, 2022. Bill was born on Feb. 7, 1935 to the late John and Nettie (Kurkerwicz) Shupert. He graduated from Alpena High School in 1953 and then served in the U.S. Army for two years. On Aug. 24, 1957, he married Sally Kendziorski at St. Anne Catholic Church. Bill worked at Abitibi for over 30 years, until his retirement in 1997.

Bill was a man of strong faith and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and taking care of his lawn (always striving for the best-looking lawn on block). Though, Bill’s greatest passion was carpentry. Through the years, he always had a hammer in hand, remodeling, repairing, and finally reaching his greatest accomplishment, building his home at the age of 55.

He is survived by four children, Mary Ann (Ed) LeClair of Webster Groves, Missouri, Randy (Kathy) Shupert of Alpena, Bill (Kendra) Shupert of Alpena, Patrick (Gina) Shupert of White Lake, Michigan, and seven grandchildren, Chad, Ryan, Jeff, Kristi, Kayla, Alyssa, and Savannah, six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Marion Baryo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally, a daughter, Sally Ann, a son Girard, a granddaughter, Arianna Shupert, and his two brothers, John and Louis of Alpena.
