MICKIE CALVIN LEE

Mickie was born on Sept. 10, 1953 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan to the late Charlton and Gloria (Scheel) Lee. He graduated from Oscoda Area High School in 1972. Mickie retired in January 2018 after 26 years as the Facilities Director of YMCA Camp Nissokone in Oscoda and YMCA Camp Ohiyesa in Holly, Michigan. He had a strong work ethic and devotion to YMCA camping services. Mickie also served faithfully as a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado and was part of a loving church family. He loved the outdoors whether it was hunting or fishing with his grandsons or riding and tinkering with his motorcycles.

Mickie is survived by his loving wife, Sheryl (Lightner) Lee whom he married on Sept. 3, 1994 in Saginaw, Michigan; children, Jeremy (Jennifer) Lee of Oscoda, Michigan and William (Lynn) Lee of Howard, Colorado; step-mother, Patricia (Kravitz) Lee of Oscoda, Michigan and St. Clair Shores, Michigan; siblings, Vicki (Charlie) Huffman of Oscoda, Michigan, Ron (Janet) Lee of Oscoda, Michigan, Tim (Nancy) Lee of Oscoda, Michigan, Tom (Chrissy) Lee of Mikado, Michigan and Sandy (late Ronald) Hohrein of Dover, Delaware; grandsons, Austin (Hayley) Lee, Patrick Lee and Connor Lee and great-grandchildren, Waylon Robert Lee and Aspyn Lee.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlton Lee and mother, Gloria Lee.

Per Mick’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Mikado, Michigan with Pastor Timothy Steiner officiating. Interment will take place in Calvary Baptist Church Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Cancer Center. Mick will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
