LEROY SCHAEDIG

Leroy Schaedig, 83, of Alpena passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022 under the loving care of Touch of Country Care Home.

Leroy was born April 13, 1939, in Ocqueoc, Michigan to the late George and Elsie (Grulke) Schaedig. As a life-long resident of the area, Leroy enjoyed all that the outdoors had to offer including hunting, fishing, and golfing. He also enjoyed bowling, trips to the casino, playing cards, scratch off lottery tickets, dancing with his wife Mary, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Alpena FOP Lodge, the Lake Emma Hunt Club, the German Club where he and Mary were past King and Queen, and an integral member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served in a multitude of capacities for many years. Leroy drove truck for Zaiger-Griffin Distributing for 41 years before retiring.

Leroy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary, his three children, Cathy (Roger) Weise, William “Bill” (Tammy) Schaedig, and Kurt (Sherry) Schaedig, 2 brothers, Edgar “Fox” (Janet) Schaedig, and Larry Schaedig, his sister in-law, Pam Schaedig, nine grandchildren, Jordon (Victoria) Weise, Jenna Weise, Tyler (Tracie) Schaedig, Dalton (Carlee Sauls) Schaedig, Leah Schaedig, James (Lindsey) Schaedig, Daniel Schaedig, Griffin Schaedig, and Gerianna (Austin) Lake, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray, and Harley Schaedig, his great-grandson, Grayson Schaedig, and two sisters-in-law, Sally and Diane Schaedig.

Family will receive friends at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joshua Schultz officiating.
