JOAN SKIBA

Joan Skiba, age 79, of Wyoming, formerly of Alpena, was called to her heavenly home to be with her Savior, Jesus, surrounded by her family on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theresa and Michael Tadajewski.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Ray; her daughter, Lisa (Michal) Lach; two grandchildren, Sara (Michael) Davey, and Josh (Brittany) Lach; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Malachi; sister, Diane (Richard) Amlotte; brother, Mark M. Tadajewski.

Joan was a loving, caring, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to spend time with her family, especially the great-grandsons. She was a hard working woman who was a nurse’s aide, a waitress, and a hospital housekeeper. She helped Ray plan and build two houses. Joan loved to cook with Josh, take walks, read, watch soap operas and the Hallmark Channel, attend Mass and pray the Rosary.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson SW, Grandville with The Rev. Stephen Durkee presiding.

Burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30 p.m., at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, and also on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
