WILFRED HENRY REINHOLZ
Wilfred Henry ‘Hank’ Reinholz, 94, of Hubbard Lake passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2022. Hank was born on April 3, 1928, in Ossineke Michigan to Ewald and Gertrude (Kowalsky) Reinholz. He left school in the 10th grade and joined the Army. He served in the Occupation of Japan in World War II. Returning home, he worked many jobs including a sawmill with his dad, at Bud Wheel in Detroit, at Bay City Shovels, and then worked at Abitibi until his retirement. On Nov. 25, 1950, he married Jane Ann Bradley at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alpena.
Known as Hank to his family and friends, he was an active member of the Spruce VFW, serving as commander from 1967-1969, and again from 1974-1975. He was instrumental in building the VFW Hall in Spruce. In his later years, Hank loved auctions and spent most weekends on the hunt for antique fishing lures.
Hank is survived by his wife of 71 years, Jane, five children — Randy (Sherry) Reinholz, Joann Reinholz, Viki VanEssen, Barbara (Dennis) Meggert, and Tim (Cory) Reinholz. He is also survived by grandchildren Melissa (Correy) Chabot, Dan VanEssen, Bill Reinholz, Jeremy (April) Corthals, Angie (Brad) Indish, Josh (Tiffany) Corthals, Nichole (Chris) Reinholz, Randi Reinholz, Boyd Meggert, Erich (Stephanie) Meggert, Brandy (Jeremy) Fuhr, Leroy (Heidi) Krentz, and Derek (Courtney) Krentz. Great grandchildren Heather, Erik, Scott, Danielle, Grace, Fox, Henry, Sadie, Braxton, Brenden, Eli, Sophia, Cody, Kiera, Lorilei and Emmet, and great-great-grandchildren Oaklynn and Aly.
Family will receive friends at Hope Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake on Monday, September 19, 2022, from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 12pm with the Rev. Bryan Solminen officiating.
