KENNETH MONROE ALLEN

Kenneth Monroe Allen, 67, of Alpena passed away at home Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022.

Ken was born July 9, 1955, in Alpena to the late Alvin and Annie (Miles) Allen. The three loves in his life were his boys, Rob, Justin and Travis. But anyone that knew Ken, understood that his absolute greatest love in life was fishing. He spent any and all his spare time throwing a line in the water somewhere. He didn’t keep that love to himself though as he shared it with anyone that would let him. Any person fishing near or around Ken wouldn’t stand a chance at catching anything because the fish just seem to jump on Ken’s line all the time! He also enjoyed hunting as well.

He spent many of his years in a career of Law Enforcement. In the later years of his career his calm demeanor was utilized in de-escalation of volatile situations. Ken took great pride in serving people and helping them overcome difficult and challenging situations.

And let’s not forget his sense of humor! Ken always loved to hear laughter and would make sure those around him heard at least one of his jokes before they got away!

He is going to be missed here on this earth, but we know he is rejoicing in his union with those who passed before him.

Ken is survived by his sons, Travis and Justin Allen, two sisters, Judy (John) Tucker, Barbara Wilson, seven grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his close friend and confidant, Teira McKenzie. He was preceded by his son, Robert Allen, and two sisters, Eyvonne Fullone, and Donna Mullane.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Allen officiating. Memorial donations can be made to the Alpena Cycle Club. Arrangements have been entrusted with McWilliams Funeral Home.
