WINNIFRED JUNE CHRZAN
Winnifred June Chrzan, age 87, of Alpena passed away peacefully on Aug. 21, 2022. Winnifred “Windy” was born on March 1, 1935 to the late Harvey and Beatrice (Taylor) Parris. On June 12, 1954 she married Eugene “Gene” Chrzan Sr. in Onaway Michigan. They were married for 64 wonderful years. Gene proceeded her in death on April 11, 2018. Winnifred was a Girl Scout Assistant leader for over 20 years and touched many lives and had many adventures. She was an accomplished baker and cake decorator for over 50 years. She made many beautiful elaborate wedding and special event cakes. They were so intricate and beautiful that people did not want to eat them. Windy enjoyed crafting, hunting, photography, woodworking, camping trips, and bingo. She especially enjoyed planning parties, games, and playing cards with her friends and family. She cherished her family and time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many.
Winnifred is survived by her children: Susan (Ken McDonald) Hamilton, Eugenia (Ken) Carter, Walter (Debbie) Chrzan, and Cindy (Gary) Page; 10 grandchildren: Tom (Marie) Carter, Steve (Amy) Nickowski, Stacey (Craig) Smith, Josh (Karen) Page, Jesse (Tina) Page, Rayne (Jason) Strange, Precious Chrzan, Patience Chrzan, Brooks Chrzan, and Diane Williams; 19 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. Windy’s siblings; Mary (Dwayne) Balthazor, Delphy (Mike) Plummer, Bill Parris, Chloe Jezeski, and Dale (Julie) Parris. She is preceded in death by her son Eugene Chrzan Jr., her husband Eugene Chrzan Sr., and nine brothers and sisters.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at Karpus Hunter & Ross funeral home on Sunday Aug. 28, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7pm. Visitation will continue Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tyler Bischoff officiating.
