DONALD GORDON LETOURNEAU
Donald Gordon LeTourneau, 82, of Ossineke, passed away at home Friday, June 10, 2022.
Don was born July 20, 1939, in Alpena to the late Thomas and Gertrude (Kennedy) LeTourneau. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1958 and began working for Town Radio. He went on to start his own D.J. business in 1959. Don also worked for Bedford Motors for 13 years, then went to work for McCoy Pontiac before retiring from Alcona Motors and working part time for Hudson Motor Sales for a couple years. Don spent six years in the Michigan National Guard and served in the Detroit riots. He married Avis Miller and raised four children. He later married Linda Cohoon who became his best friend as well as his wife. She passed away in 1998. Don was always proud of his family and loved them all. He enjoyed selling cars and bringing music to hundreds of people as the “Music Express”. Don was a member of the American Legion, the Alpena Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Alpena Yacht Club.
Don is survived by his four children, Don Jr., Gordon, Cherie (Paul) Wisniewski, and Greg, his sister, Linda (LeTourneau) Hudson of Alpena, and his brother, Ronald (Susan) LeTourneau of Oregon, and seven grandchildren, Jonathon and Amy LeTourneau, Christina, Tommy, and Christopher LeTourneau, and Aubrey Wisniewski.
Family will receive friends at McWilliams Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Military honors will be accorded by VFW Post 2496 starting at 1pm. The Rev Tyler Bischoff will be officiating the memorial service immediately following. Services will be live streamed on Don’s tribute wall at mcwilliamsfh.com where online condolences can be registered as well.
