ALEX JON ‘AJ’ HOPPE
Alex Jon ‘AJ’ Hoppe, 18, of Alpena, passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, at home.
Alex was born on Sept. 19, 2003, in Alpena to Robert and Julie (Palevich) Hoppe. He graduated from Alpena High School in 2021 and was attending the Alpena Community College Utility Tech Program. Alex enjoyed Ford trucks, hunting, snowmobiling, fishing, dirt bike riding, traveling, and was a history buff. He especially loved spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are his parents, Julie (special friend Tom Donakowski) Hoppe and Bob Hoppe; five siblings, Chelsea Marsh, Sean (Kristen) Marsh, Dan (Meghan) Marsh, Ben (Jenny) Hoppe, Jerred (Megan) Hoppe; nine special nieces and nephews, Mackenzi, Kason and Ryelle Marsh, Ryan and Nora Marsh, Cody and Eva Hoppe, Jason and Violet Hoppe; grandfather, Henry Hoppe; aunts and uncles, Mari (Ron) Andor, Sue (Bill) McKay, Cathy (Denny) Pierce, Carol (Doug) Hanfland, Michael (Michele) Palevich; and numerous cousins.
Alex was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alice Hoppe, Myron and Rose Marie Palevich; uncle, Charles Hoppe; and cousin, Kyle Bright.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, March 1, at Bannan Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. with a private family service on Wednesday with the Rev. Tyler Bischoff officiating.
