MARGARET MARY O’DONNELL YOCKEY

Margaret Mary O’Donnell Yockey, of Alpena passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, the Feast Day of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, at MidMichigan Medical Center – Alpena.

Margaret Mary O’Donnell was born in Alpena on Nov. 29, 1928, to the late Francis and Marie (Fitzpatrick) O’Donnell. She was a lifelong member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She graduated from St. Bernard High School and later St. Mary College in Indiana. On Sept. 1, 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, William Yockey. He preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 1999. Maggie loved playing golf and was club champion at Alpena County Club.

Surviving are four children, William Yockey, Kevin Yockey, Claud “C.R.” Yockey, Meaghan (Michael) Daleski, two grandchildren, Graham (Rachel) Yockey, Jaqueline (Sunny) Crimmins, three great-grandchildren, Emmet Yockey, Hayleigh Crimmins, Hayden Crimmins, a sister, Sarah Homant, and a sister-in-law, Marcia O’Donnell.

Mrs. Yockey was preceded in death by a son, Francis Yockey and four siblings, Francis O’Donnell, Patricia O’Donnell, John O’Donnell, and Michael O’Donnell.

Memorial visitation will take place at St. Bernard Church of All Saints Parish on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon with the Rev. Tyler Bischoff officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home. Streaming will be available at bannanfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friendship Room, checks need to be written to All Saints of Alpena and memo with Friendship Room – Yockey.
