JANET KAY MENCI
Janet Kay Menci, age 70, died Friday Oct. 15, 2021 at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan due to complications from surgery.
Janet was born in Detroit on July 28, 1951, daughter of Rudolph and Myrtle (Altman) Wirgau. She graduated from South Lake High School in St. Clair Shores, Michigan then attended State College of Beauty School in Detroit, and then went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse afterwards. She worked in Garden City Hospital and nursing homes in that area.
Janet enjoyed crocheting blankets for family members, sending cards to people she deeply cared about and loved spending time with her two grandsons Silas and Joey Jr.
Janet is survived by her mother, Myrtle (Wirgau) Zinke, daughter Tammi Menci (Brett Outland), son, Joey Menci (fiancee Liz), grandsons Silas and Joey Jr. Sisters Jeanne Wirgau, Judy (Ralph) Idalski, Joan (Kurt) Konieczny, and brother Ron (Becky) Wirgau, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Menci and father Rudy Wirgau. Plans for a memorial to be at a later date.
