PHYLLIS JEAN RATZ

Phyllis Jean Ratz, 90, of Ossineke, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021 after passing peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Phyllis was born June 13, 1931 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late George and Olive (Brady) Palmer. She and her husband Rudy moved back to the Ratz family farm in Ossineke in 1962. Phyllis enjoyed being outside where she was fond of her flower garden. Her greatest joy came with time spent with family. She always gave her grandchildren a big hug and told them “I love you and don’t you forget it!” Phyllis was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church where she sang and served as choir director for many years. She was also an active member of the Zonta Club until her retirement.

Phyllis is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Jim) Greer, Bonnie Emeott, and Carol Aube, nine grandchildren, Rick (Christina) Emeott, Todd (Ashley) Emeott, David (Kayla) Ratz, Bryan (Dana) Ratz, Kayla, and Amanda Temple, Michael, Steven, and Laura Greer, 13 great-grandchildren, and her brother Gordon (Natasha) Palmer. She was preceded in death by her husband Rudy, two sons, Jim and Rudy Ratz, her brother Gary Palmer, and her sister Judy Palmer.

Family will receive friends at Hope Lutheran Church on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Herbert Kitzman officiating.
