WILMA JOYCE KIRSCHNER

Wilma Joyce Kirschner, 75, of Alpena went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 1, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Wilma Schultz was born on April 21, 1946 in Alpena. Wilma married Daniel Kirschner on Aug. 1, 1975, enjoying 45 years of a loving marriage. Wilma worked for the Michigan Department of Human Services for 30 years. She demonstrated her extreme love for the Lord through her service at Word of Life Baptist Church, serving in numerous roles.

Wilma enjoyed spending time gardening and working on the farm, alongside her husband, the love of her life, horse and carriage rides, serving others, and being with her special Aunt Charlotte Werth. Wilma will always be remembered for her love of the Lord, her family, and her selfless acts of kindness. Wilma will especially be remembered for her infectious laugh and smile. Wilma loved life!

Wilma is survived by her husband, Dan, three children, Heather Fitch (Alpena), Thomas Kirschner (Ft. Meyers, Florida), Travis (Heather) Kirschner (Traverse City), four grandchildren, Hannah (Jon) Benedict, Emma Fitch, Parker Kirschner, Sawyer Kirschner, five siblings, Dennis (Pat) Schultz, Sandra Ball, Emery “Sonny” (Barb) Timm, Bruce (Laurie) Timm, Steven (Karen) Timm, several nieces and nephews.

Wilma was preceded by her parents, Emil Schultz, Emery and Irma (Werth) Timm, and brother Warren Timm.

Visitation will take place on Friday at the Bannan Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. and at Word of Life Baptist Church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 12 noon with the Rev.
