GERALDINE JANE KAISER

Geraldine Jane Henski was born on Sept. 22, 1935 to the late Joseph and Jane (Romel) Henski. Gerry married Clare John Kaiser on Oct. 8, 1955 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alpena. They were married for 65 years and had four wonderful children.

Geraldine worked for several grocery stores during her lifetime including A&P, Kroger, and Neiman’s. She absolutely loved her gardens, sewing, crafting and after retirement spending time in Arizona with her brother Eli. On any given weekend, she and Clare could be found dancing the night away with family and friends to any polka band they could find in the area. She loved the WATZ Sunday morning polka show especially.

She was the loving wife of Clare, mother to Tom (Pierre), Sue (John) Stender, Jim (Carol), and Debbie (Arnie) Pokorzynski. Devoted grandma to Jessica (Andrew) Wilson, Aaron Pokorzynski, Michael (Melissa) Kaiser, Michelle Kaiser, and Renee (Zach) Tanton. Adored her great-grandchildren, Otto, Isla and Aven Wilson. She is also survived by brothers, Johnny (Debbie) Henski, Ortonville, Michigan, Danny (Genevieve) Henski, Ochalata, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Nellie Henski, Connie Henski; and two brothers-in-law, Bruno Hirtzel and Donald Chenoweth.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, Eli, Gerald, Larry, Joseph, Thomas, sisters, Shirley Hirtzel, Joyce Fitzpatrick, Lori Chenoweth, and baby Mary.

A private family service will be held and a Catholic mass and celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Bannan Funeral Home.
