DONALD A. DZIESINSKI

Donald “Don” A. Dziesinski, age 82, of Alpena, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021.

On Dec. 10, 1938, Donald was born to the late Alexander and Anna (Chalupniczak) Dziesinski in Alpena, Michigan. Don grew up drilling wells with his father; obtaining his Michigan Drilling License and started his own business, retiring after 61 years, in 2017. Don married Connie Pawelek on Oct. 24, 1994. He owned eight different airplanes and put in two Airfields, one on Haken Road and the other on U.S.-23 North by his home. He had a passion for aviation; enjoying a lifetime of flying; especially with his brother Larry. Don is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Connie, seven children, Sandra (Craig) McCullen, Denise (Ken) Kowalsky, Kurt (Julie) Dziesinski, Kevin Dziesinski, Melanie (Bob) Marshall, Jesse Kowalski, Aaron Kowalski, 11 grandchildren, Marrah (Xavier) Witt, Madilyn Spigelmyre, Alissa Spigelmyre, Tommick Kowalski, Jackson Kowalski, Krista Dziesinski, Jeremey Dziesinski, Josh Dubie, Travis Kowalsky, Jared Kowalsky, six brothers, Lawrence (Janet) Dziesinski, Stanley (Carol) Dziesinski, Theodore (Karen) Dziesinski, Kenneth (Tricia) Dziesinski, Randy Dziesinski, one brother-in-law, Don Schilstra; three sisters, Diane (Richard) Spicer, Eileen Frantz, Barbara Dziesinski; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Steven Dziesinski; one sister, Marianne Schilstra, one brother-in-law, Rick Frantz.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service begins at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home with Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Gift of Life in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
