RICKY RAY PATCHKOWSKI

Ricky Ray Patchkowski, 71, of Alpena was called home to be with his Lord on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Rick was born March 21, 1949 in Rogers City to the late William and Irene (Raymond) Patchkowski. He was raised in Rogers City where he would go on to graduate high school. Rick went to work at Calcite where he loaded the ships. On July 26, 1997 he married Ronda Havermahl and the two began their journey together. Rick was a man of faith and was always eager to share the goodness of Jesus Christ with anyone he could. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed bowling, darts, and horseshoes. He was extremely competitive in horseshoes having competed at the highest level at world tournaments. His greatest joy and passion came from sharing the good news with others. This passion lead him to serving in the Keryx Prison Ministries, a ministry aimed at delivering prisoners from the bondage of sin and death and enjoying true freedom. He will be dearly missed.

Rick is survived by his wife Ronda, three children; Mitchell Patchkowski, Kari (Walter) Kleve, Andy Havermahl, four grandchildren; Billy and Ayla Kleve, CJ Havermahl, Margaret Manning, and two siblings; David (Becky) Patchkowski and Bonnie (Norm) Heier. He is preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Manning and brother Bill “Patch”.

Due to COVID-19, a private family service will be held. A celebration of Rick’s life will take place at a later date at the Alpena Free Methodist Church where he was a long-time member. Please consider a memorial donation to the Keryx Ministries at keryx.org, the Alpena Free Methodist Church or Hospice of Michigan. Arrangements have been entrusted with McWilliams Funeral Home. Online condolences can be registered at www.mcwilliamsfh.com.
