DANIEL GENE KISSANE

A proud veteran, he enjoyed his time in the United States Air Force. After completing his service, he married his best friend, Heidi Ruhland where they spent the next 34 years together. A warm, gregarious man, who worked in sales, which gave him the opportunity to meet people of all walks of life. His most recent employer, Meijer of Alpena, is where he enjoyed sharing his great sense of humor with his coworkers.

He is survived by the love of his life, Heidi, three children, John (Shelby), Mary (Sheldon) Schmidt, and Elizabeth, grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Gemma, and Heidi, four brothers, Michael (Coleen), Thomas (Heesook), James, and Bernie, and one sister, Marissa (Darren) Huntley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary Lou Kissane, as well as a sister, Becky Hooper.

A lion of a man, he had a tough exterior that barely concealed his raw and selfless heart.
