BARBARA ANN WILLIAMS
Barbara Ann Williams, 82, of Alpena, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena. She was a kindhearted and loving woman that will be dearly missed. She was born on Oct. 6, 1938 to the late Cyril and Christine (Snider) Novotny in Detroit. Barbara married the love of her life Jack Williams at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Detroit on May 25, 1957.
Barbara enjoyed reading and could often be found on her porch with a book while listening to the birds. She loved animals, was involved with many different groups at St. Paul Lutheran Church and served as a volunteer for several years with Hospice of Michigan.
She is survived by her daughter, Jill (John) Pelkey of Chesterfield, Michigan, two sons, Jeffrey R. (Susan) Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jack M. (Karen) Williams of Canton, Michigan, a brother, Jim Novotny, grandchildren, Kate, Jason, and Amanda, sister in law Annette Novotny, and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many dear friends that she held near and dear to her heart.
Barb was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Jack, a brother Steve Novotny, and sister-in-law, Katie Novotny.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions placed upon us by the MDHHS, a memorial service will take place at a later date. Barb has been taken for cremation from McWilliams Funeral Home.
