JAMES LAWRENCE GUTHRIE

James was born on June 1, 1941 in Alpena to the late Harry and Fidelis (McDonnell) Guthrie. On Sept. 25, 1962, he married Shirley Hinkley. James enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and following grandchildren’s sporting events.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley; five children, Jodi (Jeff) Gilmet, Terri Davis, Bonnie Kyes, Tom (Nancy) Guthrie, Harry (Amy Schultz) Guthrie; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Ken (Carol) Guthrie, Carol Ann (Mike) Keller, John Guthrie; brother-in-law, Gary (Maureen) Stevens; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Guthrie was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Keith; granddaughters, Kristina Gilmet, Trisha Moran; and siblings, Donna Stevens and Gary Guthrie.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
