DOROTHY MARIE WACHOWSKI
Dorothy Marie Wachowski, 96, of Alpena passed away peacefully Saturday, July 25, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed.
Dorothy was born July 6, 1924 to the late Harry and Mary (Meir) Griffin in West Branch, Michigan. She graduated from St Joseph’s Catholic School. She was a schooled organist who played at many church and social events. She graduated nursing school in Grand Rapids, Michigan and went on to practice nursing locally into her late 80s.
She married Eugene Michael Wachowski Aug. 12, 1950. Their love brought them six wonderful children, Patricia Hanson, Susanne Jackson, Michael (Martha) Wachowski, Larry Wachowski, Christopher (Alison) Wachowski, and Mary Wachowski: 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Eugene preceded her in death April 5, 1986.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia, grandchild Nicole, three siblings, Theresa (Griffin) Van Sickle, Harry “Benny” Griffin, Robert Griffin.
Visitation will take place at McWilliams Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from noon to 2 p.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish at 3 p.m. with the Rev.
