JAMES RALPH BYERS

James was born on July 10, 1937 in Alpena to the late James and Flossie (Johnson) Byers. On June 8, 1968, he married Esther Hund. She preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 2007. James enjoyed hunting and gardening.

Surviving are his two children, Mary Daleski, Kathy Prevo, four stepchildren, Maureen (Ray) Sowden, Colleen (Dru) Metiva, Shelly (Dale) Hall, Sherry (Mike) Crowell, 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, seven siblings, Marjorie McKenzie, Patricia Orban, Larry “Tony” (Margie) Byers, Ken (Mary) Byers, Bonnie (Paul) Black, William (Gayle) Byers, and Lori (Wayne) Gagnon.

Mr. Byers was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ronald Byers, Gerald Byers, stepdaughter, Kelly Keinath, and granddaughter, Shelley Dziesinski.

Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
