ARTHUR LEE ALEXANDER
Alexander, Arthur Lee of Flushing, age 92, died Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Masonic Pathways in Alma. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6, at 1 p.m. at Masonic Pathways in Alma.
Arthur was born in Alpena, Michigan on March 11, 1928, to the late Thomas and Myrtle (Carpenter) Alexander. He married Marjorie Haist on Sept. 1, 1951. Arthur proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps. He worked for General Motors as a supervisor before retiring after 38 years. Arthur was active in Boy Scout Troop 115. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #381 and New Lothrop O.E.S. #312 and was a past Worthy Grand Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star of the State of Michigan. Arthur and Marjorie were members of the Flushing United Methodist Church. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed hunting and fishing and will be remembered as a loving husband and devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marjorie; sons, David and wife Martha Alexander, James and wife Cynthia Alexander; daughter-in-law Lisa Alexander; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Huggler and Joy Christian. Arthur was preceded in death by five brothers, Roger, Willard, Duane, Donald, Dwight (Thomas) and his son, Douglas.
