MICHAEL PHILIP WISNIEWSKI

Michael Philip Wisniewski, 75, of Alpena passed away at home unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020.

Mike was born June 22, 1944 in Alpena to the late Philip and Gertrude (Wudcoski) Wisniewski. A lifelong resident of Alpena, Mike fully enjoyed all that the area had to offer. He was an avid fisher and hunter. He was always involved with local sports whether it was playing or coaching softball for 40 years, playing hockey for the Alpena Flyers, or bowling. Mike was also a tennis singles and doubles champion in high school. Mike was always active as was evident by his daily walks. Both he and Marjorie were always seen walking around town even on the coldest days. Their daily walks will be deeply missed by Marjorie. Mike could often be found out on the boat as well where he really found his peace. Mike also enjoyed tapping his maple trees at his Spruce property where he made syrup for many years. Mike really cherished his time with family especially his grandchildren. His kind heart and “tell it to you straight” personality will be missed by many.

Mike is survived by his wife Marjorie, four children; Philip (Patricia) Wisniewski, Kristin (William) Burrone, Jeff (Erin) Marceau, Jenny (Scott) Stevens, his sister Patricia (Dan) Barden, daughter in-law Cherie Wisniewski, 10 grandchildren; Tracy (Brent) Bechtel, Aubrey Wisniewski, Brandon Burrone, Shawna (Matt) Izzo, Breanna Burrone, Aimee Wisniewski, Ava Stevens, Alex Stevens, Jase Marceau, Evan Marceau, one great-grandchild Claire Bechtel. He is preceded in death by his son Paul, and his brother Norman Jaskolski.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020 at McWilliams Funeral Home from 4 -8 p.m. Online condolences can be registered at www.mcwilliamsfh.com.
