SONIA S. LaLONDE

Born Nov. 18, 1955 to William and Bernadette (Champlain) Sheldon in Alpena, she was a lifelong resident of Black River. On June 5, 1976, she married Robert C. LaLonde Jr. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Black River. A devoted caregiver, Sonia loved taking care of her family, especially her granddaughters.

Sonia is survived by her son, Bobby (Melissa) LaLonde, of Bath, her daughter Betsy (Ryan) Borowicz, of Alpena, two grandchildren, Hattie Mae and Eliza Jane LaLonde, her brother, William (Chris) Sheldon Jr., her sister, Emily Kruse, her sister-in-law, Cathy Sheldon, as well as many many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on March 3, 2017, her brother, George Sheldon, and two sisters, Bernadette (Sparky) Sparks and Bonnie (Rick) McEwen.

Mrs. LaLonde is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends my call on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020 from 3 p.m. until the funeral service at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
