RICHARD ALLEN KAYE

Richard (Dick) Allen Kaye, 76, of Alpena, Michigan went to be with his Lord on Nov. 29, 2019 surrounded by family in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Dick was born on July 28, 1943 to Ray and Elizabeth (Adelhart) Kaye. He grew up in Detroit, graduated from Eastern Michigan University, and married Cheryl Stadelbauer on Sept. 2, 1966. Dick and Cheryl raised their two daughters in Plymouth, Michigan, where they lived until 1998. Dick worked for Detroit Bank and Trust (later Comerica Bank) as a Vice President in the branch system for 32 years before retiring to Alpena and wintering in Florida. He loved singing in choirs, sailing, riding his bike, playing games, swimming, and traveling. A man of deep Christian faith, he spent much of his life serving others through his church and service organizations, initiating and fostering friendships, sparking laughter, delivering sage financial advice, and always showing interest in the lives of those around him. The physical limitations brought on by polio as a youth never deterred him from living a full life with purpose.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Cheryl, daughters Elizabeth (Peter) Bachwich, Heather (Jacob) Zettelmaier, and grandchildren Ethan (Christy), Sasha (GiYeol), Samuel, Elizabeth, Henry, and Louis, and great-grandson Simon. He is also survived by his brother Raymond Kaye and sister Suzanne McDonough. Dick will be lovingly remembered by many “adopted” children, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, 1 p.m. visitation and 2 p.m. service, at Huron Shores Fellowship, 3558 M-32 W., Alpena, Michigan, 49707. Another memorial service will take place on Friday, Dece. 27, 2019, 6 p.m. visitation and 7 p.m. service at Riverside Presbyterian Church, 3400 N. Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach, Forida, 32931. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to these causes where Dick served for many years: Canaveral Port Ministry (www.cpm.life) and Kiwanis International (www.kiwanis.org).
