BRETT ALLEN SZUMILA
Brett Allen Szumila, 21, of Alpena passed away at home Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 following a courageous battle with cancer. Brett was born Jan. 10, 1998 in Alpena.
He loved his trucks, snowmobiling, riding his quad, hunting and fishing. Brett’s time here was far too brief yet his impact on family, loved ones, and all who knew him will forever remain.
Brett is survived by his parents; Karl (Ruth) Szumila and Mary (Jeremy) Bruski, two brothers; Brandon Szumila of Alpena, Tanyr ZiBerna (Alyssa) of Holland, Michigan; grandparents, Dolores Szumila, Joyce Misiak, Joe and Karen Allen; and special family, Mike, Michelle, Cole, and Jake Palevich. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald Misiak, Richard Szumila, and Virgil and Imy Kingsbury.
A celebration of Brett’s life will be held at Cathro Community Baptist Church on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019 at 4 p.m. with Pastor Paul Frey officiating.
