CARILON MARIE HOPPERSTEAD CARR

Carilon Marie Hopperstead Carr died on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019 at the age of 91. She is survived by her husband James Richard of 69 years, two sons, James Arthur and Kathleen Carr, of Tallahassee, Florida, and Thomas Peter and Janet Carr, of Grandville, Michigan, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and many devoted nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, former City Manager Arnold Melvin Hopperstead, mother Bertha Olafine Bensen Hopperstead, her brother Arthur and sister Helen. She lived at 121 Hitchcock from 1928 until 1943 and had many friends in Alpena. A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday at Clark Retirement Community Chapel in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
