ARLIE A. DUBIE

Arlie A. Dubie, age 86, of Alpena, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 21, 2019.

On May 23, 1933, Arlie was born to the late Albert and Anges (Marcotte) Dubie in Alpena, Mich. He married June Lewis on Nov. 28, 1958, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Herron, Mich. Arlie worked in the Alpena area as a salesman for 27 years, at numerous stores selling appliances. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Arlie was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 2496, D.A.V. , American Legion, a life member of the Knights of Columbus, and a charter member of the fraternal order of the Moose Lodge. Arlie enjoyed spending his time with his family, out to the hunting camp, and on his tractor.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, June, and their five children: Allison (Tom) Gilbertson of Alpena, Mich.; Amy (Dean) Eshom of Topeke, Kan.; Todd (Roberta) Dubie of Alpena, Mich.; Tara (Peter) Smith of Waynesboro, Va.; Angela (Howard) Smith of Holly, Mich.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one sister: Lila Burnash of Flint, Mich.; two sisters-in-law; Agnes Dubie of Herron, Mich. and Arlene Dubie of Flint, Mich.; along with several nieces and nephews.

Arlie was preceded in death by two brothers: Clare and Ardon Dubie; along with two sisters Marjorie Donakowski and Sandra Dubie; two brother-in-laws: Norbert Donakowski and Frank Burnash.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial begins with Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating, followed by Full Military Honors accorded by the V.F.W. Post 2496. Arrangements are being handled through the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home.

Interment: St. Rose Cemetery in Herron, Mich. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Michigan in memory of Arlie.
