ROBERT G. GRAHAM

Mr. Robert G. Graham, age 87, passed away Wednesday night, June 5, 2019 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City. He was born on May 23, 1932 to the late Harold and Rosalie (Cardinal) Nyman in Detroit. Robert attended Mackenzie High School and served four years in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi. After his discharge, he attended the University of Detroit, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, and worked for Bigelow-Liptak Corp. In 1973 Robert started his own company, C&H Engineering Co. and moved to Sanford, Mich., where he had a manufacturing plant until 1994.

Robert married Elaine Snider in 1952 in Detroit and she survives his passing. He is also survived by three daughters, Antoinette Graham-Brown (Robert) of Micanopy, Fla., Patricia Galbraith (Richard) of Rochester, Minn., and Maria Meier (William) of Bay City; six grandchildren, Rene’ Geneva Renko (Thomas), Randall Gersdorf, Ashley Meier, Luca Galbraith, Jacinta Galbraith and Chelsea Galbraith; three great-grandchildren, Kailen Quinn, August Renko and Graham Donnelly; and his sister, Karen Sherrin (Frederick) of Scottsdale, Ariz. Robert was also preceded in death by a grandson, Alexander Meier; a granddaughter, Amanda Meier; and his stepfather, Arthur Graham.

Robert was an avid sailor and had owned a series of sailboats. He enjoyed playing snooker and bridge, and loved hunting ducks. Robert was a member of the Presque Isle Harbor Association, the Presque Isle Men’s Club and the Presque Isle Yacht Club.
