EVELYN EILEEN HERBERT

Evelyn was born Sept. 22, 1943 in Tecumseh, Mich., the daughter of Charles and Helen (Yenor) Beland. On Jan. 1, 1996 she married David Herbert in Alpena, Mich., and he survives. She was a graduate of Tecumseh High School and attended Central Michigan University. After 26 years of service she retired as a seamstress from General Motors.

Evelyn was always actively involved with church ministry. She was currently a member of Community Baptist Church, Davison, Mich., and a former member of Cathro Baptist Church, Alpena.

She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, traveling, crocheting and knitting.

In addition to her husband, David, she is survived by her children, Martin (Shelly) Lewis and David (Nicole) Lewis; six stepchildren; three grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gerald Lewis and Roger DeSeranno and sister, Marilyn Collins.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Pastor Daryl Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Blissfield.
