PATRICIA LOUISE BERANT

Patricia Louise Blaski was born June 14, 1934 in Alpena to the late Stanley and Viola (Garant) Blaski. On April 28, 1956 she married Florian Berant. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2011. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.

Patricia studied hard and became a nurse and gave up her career to raise her family of six boys and two girls. She was an amazing, caring, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to all. She treated everyone as if they were her own. Patricia was truly loved by all and will be sorely missed. We will forever remember her warm smile, her soft-spoken voice and her love of playing cards.

Patricia remained strong to the end and prior to her passing she accepted and embraced her faith. She passed peacefully in her sleep and was surrounded by her children and gave a warm and caring goodbye to each of her children.

Surviving are her seven children, Cathy (Joe) Zbytowski, Debra (Bob) Diemond, Mike Berant, Jim (Jennifer) Berant, Steve (Ann) Berant, Randy Berant, Bruce (Tami) Berant; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Sally (Julian) Skiba, Jim (Diane) Blaski, Janet (Walt) Mousseau, and Wayne (Sue) Blaski.

Mrs. Berant was preceded in death by her son, Joe, in 1998.

Visitation will take place Saturday, May 18, at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Scott Lawler officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery

In lieu of flowers or memorials, please do something nice for someone; a telephone call, a visit, send a card or take them out for coffee. Any small act of kindness to anyone who is alone and lonely will make Patti very happy.
