DONALD RAY CANTLEBERRY

Donald Ray Cantleberry, 82, of Alpena, entered eternal peace on Thursday, May 16, 2019 with his wife by his side. Don was born on May 7, 1937 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Clyde and Mable (Aker) Cantleberry. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Engineering which would lead to a career at General Motors Company and become a passion for many years later. Even after retiring from General Motors, automobiles stayed as a constant in Don’s life. He was a member of GM Salaried Employees Association as well as the Sunrise Side Corvette Club. He was also a longtime member at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He loved to travel as often as possible and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Marty; children, Donna Brownell of Clio, Mich., John (Jane) Cantleberry of The Colony, Texas, Bob (Maria) Cantleberry of Clermont, Fla., Dave (Kristy) Cantleberry of Linden, Mich., Rebekah (Jason) Ausmus of Superior, Colo., Leah Sparling of Ada, Mich., and Jacob (Sarah) Schneider of Grand Rapids, Mich.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Gary (Judy) Cantleberry of Rochester, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his wife Johann Cantleberry.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 10 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Alpena with Rev. John Shipman officiating.
