SHARON ANN STEWART

Sharon was born Dec. 24, 1959 in Detroit to the late Albert and Emily (Salmi) Stewart. She received her BS degree from Michigan State and eventually went on to obtain her Doctorate in Podiatry. She was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force where she served as a podiatrist for years. Sharon had a strong interest in horticulture, was a lifetime member of the Alpena D.A.V. where she served as Chaplain and was an active member of the First Congregational Church.

Sharon is survived by her longtime partner; Hal Hoover and his six children whom Sharon loved dearly, her two sisters, Carol (Craig) Miller, Linda Newsom, and six nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at McWilliams Funeral Home with military honors being accorded by VFW Post 2496 at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue at First Congregational United Church of Christ of Alpena on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Paul A. Lance officiating. An interment service will take place on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the Glen Eden Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Livonia, Mich.
