DANNY ALLEN McEWEN

Danny was born May 3, 1948 in Cheboygan, Mich., to Roy and Lorna (Gouine) McEwen. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and worked at Abitibi, retiring in 2009. On April 19, 1974 he married Gloria Herring. Danny was a member of Alpena V.F.W. Post 2496.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria; five children, Lisa Allocco, Thomas (fiancee Diane) Nestell, Harry (Jenny) Nestell, Kevin (Tammy) McEwen, Rusty (Jessica) McEwen; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his mother, Lorna McEwen; four siblings, Ernie McEwen, Connie (Gordie) Shields, Cathy (Mark) Schultz, John (Pattie) McEwen; and sister-in-law, Beverly McEwen.

Mr. McEwen was preceded in death by his father, Roy McEwen; two brothers, Rick McEwen, Michael McEwen; and sisters-in-law, Mary McEwen and Bonnie McEwen.

Memorial visitation will take place at Bannan Funeral Home on Monday from 2 p.m. until the memorial service at 7 p.m. with Pastor Dan Williams officiating. Military honors will be accorded him at 5 p.m. by Alpena V.F.W. Post 2496.
