ERDINE ALICE KANARR

Erdine Alice (Klein) Kanarr, 73, of Lachine went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.

Erdine was born in Lachine, Mich., on Jan. 27, 1945 to the late Earl and Mary (MacMillan) Klein and married the love of her life Eric Kanarr on Aug. 7, 1965. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2018.

Erdine was a graduate of U of M Flint, from which she received her teaching degree and then went on to begin her career at Rust School in Hillman, Mich. Later she went on to be a preschool teacher at Maple Ridge, Long Rapids, Wilson and Besser Elementary Schools and finished her teaching career as a fourth and fifth grade teacher at Wilson Elementary, retiring in 2005.

Erdine was a member of Word of Life Baptist Church and truly enjoyed gardening and taking care of her many flower and vegetable gardens. She had a love of horses and animals in general, particularly her and Eric’s cat, “Spooky.” Erdine also loved sewing, spending time with her five granddaughters and baking and cooking for the many family gatherings at their home.

Surviving are her three daughters, Kristen Johnson, Jennifer (Daniel) Hendrick, Kimberly (Chad) Reich; five granddaughters, Mackenzie Johnson, Chelsea (Wyatt) Boboltz, Erika Johnson, Bryanna Reich, Abigail Reich; sister, Marietta (Dave) Henderson; and brother-in-law, John Tyer.

Erdine was preceded in death by her sisters, Marian Tyer, Marguerite Klein; and brother, Earl “Sonny” Klein.

Visitation will be at the Bannan Funeral Home on Sunday, from 2-7 p.m. and continue Monday at Word of Life Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Scott Joy officiating.

Interment: Long Rapids Cemetery
