CLEMENS ANTHONY ZIELASKOWSKI

Clemens Anthony Zielaskowski (known to his friends as Mauch) passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018, at the age of 89 in Alpena, Mich.

He was born on March 15, 1929, to the late Walter and Elizabeth Zielaskowski in Alpena. Clem was a veteran of the Korean War and worked as a Shop Leader for the Besser Corporation for 40 years. Clem married Jane Marie Timm on June 23, 1951, in Alpena and was married for 66 years. He was a member of St. Paul Luthern Church and an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW Alpena Post 2496). Clem especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, volunteering at the VFW and daily visits to the hunting camp.

Clem is survived by this wife Jane, sisters Louise Burnham of Bay City and Barbara Makowski of Gaylord. He is also survived by his son Tom (Janet) Zielaskowski of DeWitt, daughter Jan Grehan of Alpena, four grandchildren Bradley (Kelly) Zielaskowski of Grand Rapids, Sarah (Fred) Hingst of Lansing, Tara (Justin) Marshall of Midland, and Shane Grehan of Grand Rapids, Michigan; as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Clem is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Elizabeth Zielaskowski, brothers Ray and Louis, sisters Blanche Hahn, Jeannette Roy and Florence Weasey.

In accordance with Clem’s wishes, there will be no funeral, visitation or memorial service. Arrangements made by Bannan Funeral Home in Alpena. Clem also asks those that knew him to do something kind to someone, whether that is giving a monetary gift to a charity, helping someone in need, or volunteering your services to a worthy organization.
