JAMIE ESTELLE SIESS

Jamie Estelle Siess, 41, passed away peacefully at home, on Dec. 16, 2017, a warrior to the end. Heaven has truly gained an angel.

Jamie Estelle Piper was born Feb. 13, 1976, in Alpena, and graduated from Alpena High School. She married Darrell Siess on March 16, 2004. Jamie took the most pride in being a Mom and spending quality time with her family. She made a positive impact on those she met, as well as worked with, always going above and beyond to foster friendships and make an office run efficiently. Jamie most recently worked as Board Secretary for the Alpena County Board of Commissioners, in what she considered her dream job. For six years prior, she was Legal Secretary for the Prosecuting Attorney’s office, which she also loved.

Jamie lived by the rule to “be nice” to one another. If we all could live the same, what a wonderful legacy she has left us to strive for.

While undergoing chemo treatment for follicular lymphoma, Jamie was diagnosed with Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), a rare disease with no cure. Jamie courageously signed on for a clinical trial at National Institute of Health, in hopes of being part of the cure, if not for herself, for others affected by the disease.

Jamie is survived by her husband, Darrell; daughter, Elle; step-son, Logan; father, Tom (who passed away later the same day) (Cheryl) Piper; mother, Susan (Richard) Barnes; sister, Tonya Paul; brother, Jerry (Shannon) Piper; mother-in-law, Alice Morrow; father in-law, Norman (Linda) Siess; sisters-in-law, Julie (Ken) Mathewson, Kim (Ray) Ridener, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her special Grandmother, Estelle Piper.

Visitation will be held at Bannan Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 2-8 p.m. and will continue Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Reverend James Erickson officiating.

Inurnment: Evergreen Cemetery
