JOAN ANN WYSOCKI

Joan Ann Wysocki, age 83, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Henry Ford Hospital surrounded by her family.

On Jan. 16, 1934, Joan was born to the late Frank and Evelyn (Hepburn) Kinsel in Alpena, Mich. She married Patrick Wysocki on Sept. 5, 1953, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Mgsr. John Gatzke. Patrick preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1990, after 37 years together Joan worked for the Alpena Public Schools retiring after 35 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of All Saints Parish, and the Exalted Ruler of the Elks Club from 2000-2002. Joan enjoyed spending her time playing cards, cribbage, dancing, singing, and with the family.

She is survived by her three children, Jean (Ron) Skiera of Lachine, Mich., Patti (Doug) Clute, and Julie (Joe) Ruczynski, both of Alpena, Mich.; one daughter-in-law, Marie Brantley-Wysocki of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Harry Kinsel of Alpena, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her son Jack Wysocki; two brothers, Clarence and Raymond F. Kinsel; along with her two sisters, Thelma Wikaryasz and Melba Przeslawski.

Family and friends will gather at the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home for visitation on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, from 2-8 p.m. with a Parish Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial begins with Rev. James Fitzpatrick officiating.
