MARY E. SMARR DONAJKOWSKI
Mary E. (Smarr) Donajkowski, 36, of Grand Rapids, Mich., passed away Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich., after an extended illness surrounded by her family.
On Dec. 2, 1980, she was born to Bernie Smarr and Joy Fettes in Alpena, Mich. She worked as a caregiver, and dedicated her life to raising her children. Mary enjoyed gardening and car shows.
She is survived by her four children, Harley Smarr, Haley, Alexis, and Cayden Donajkowski, all of Grand Rapids, Mich.; husband Steve Donajkowski of Grand Rapids, Mich.; mother-in-law Irene Donajkowski; her father Ben Smarr of N.C.; mother Joy (Daniel) Polom of Lansing, Mich.; two sisters Monica (Scott) Wheeler of N.C. and Miranda (Sean Tadjewski) Smarr of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. A close friend she carries close to her heart Don Hunter and his daughter Aliviah of Grand Rapids, Mich.
Mary was preceded in death by her nephew Kyle Wheeler.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at the Karpus-Hunter Funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 from 11 a.m. until the funeral services begins at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home at 3 p.m. with Pastor Roy Atherton officiating.
